History ride

2 hour ride

Divisional Headquarter, camp and dressing station during the Battle of the Somme and just a few miles away from the battlefields, this village has preserved several buildings that the soldiers have seen and described in reports, lettres or diaries and poems. The walk through Mailly-Maillet is at the same time an example how the French protected their homes, how they reconstructed the houses and how they lived next door with the troops.
